At PURIS, we are committed to advancing a sustainable food system for all. Recently, we had the opportunity to participate in several key industry events in our beloved city of Minneapolis.

As we’ve dubbed this week “Minneapolis Food Week 2024,” the events within provided valuable insights and opportunities for growth. Here’s a recap of what we learned and how it shapes our vision for the future.

Food & Nutrition Conference & Expo (FNCE) – October 6-8, 2024

The Food & Nutrition Conference & Expo (FNCE) is the world’s largest meeting of food and nutrition experts. As our inaugural year exhibiting, the PURIS booth was bustling with activity, attracting a diverse group of dietitians, students, and influencers.

The feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with many dietitians already recommending pea protein to their clients. Many attendees, from clinical dietitians to media dietitians, expressed a keen interest in incorporating pea protein into their practices. This reinforces our belief in the potential of pea protein to meet nutritional needs for a wide array of conditions and populations.

Bridge2Food – October 8-10, 2024

Bridge2Food brings together the world’s leading innovators in plant-based foods and alternative proteins. The event provided key market insights and facilitated deep networking opportunities.

Technical sessions at B2F 2024 underscored the importance of continuous innovation in plant-based foods, from optimizing protein extraction from plants to improving nutrient bioavailability in plant-based ingredients. Topics like the integration of plant-based proteins into fine dining highlighted the evolving landscape of sustainable food.

Research Chefs Association Event – October 8, 2024

Co-hosted with Naturally Minnesota, PURIS held a Research Chefs Association (RCA) reception at our headquarters. This evening was a unique opportunity to blend culinary arts with food science. Three students from the Culinary Arts program at Hennepin Technical College impressed us with their creativity during a plant-based burger cook-off, and a panel discussion provided deep insights into the future of food product development.

Food Ag and Ideas Week – October 8, 2024

Food Ag and Ideas Week, powered by Naturally Minnesota, is a must-attend event for anyone involved in food and agriculture innovation. The welcome reception was a great ground for networking, while the main event offered insights into regenerative agriculture and sustainable supply chains. This is a must-attend event for Minnesota thought leaders in food and agriculture.

Minnesota Institute of Food Technologists Suppliers Night Expo – October 9, 2024

The Minnesota Institute of Food Technologists (MNIFT) Suppliers Night Expo is a key event for connecting with local food industry suppliers. This year, the PURIS team enjoyed engaging with our established industry connections while meeting students and startups as well. IFT Suppliers Nights such as this one help foster innovation through connecting regional suppliers to local innovators and move makers.

These events have affirmed and reinforced PURIS’s commitment to innovation and sustainability in the plant-based food sector. We look forward to leveraging these insights to drive our mission forward and continue providing high-quality, sustainable ingredients that people can love forever.
